Patricia "Patty" Cole Obituary

Patricia "Patty" Marlene Cole (DeAngelo), age 73, of Weaverville, NC passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 3, 2024, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life. She is now reunited with her beloved golden retriever, Saylon, who was always by her side.

Patty was a light in the lives of everyone she met, known for her boundless kindness, selflessness, and infectious joy. Her love for dogs was well-known, and she amazed family and friends with her ability to train them in the most delightful ways—teaching them to pray and even dance. But it was her heart for service that truly defined her. Despite her own health challenges, Patty remained committed to bringing joy to others. She often visited hospitals with her dog to comfort patients, and her creative spirit shone in the handmade gifts she crafted for nursing home residents, repurposing simple items into cherished keepsakes.

Born on May 5, 1951, in Canton, Ohio to James DeAngelo and Lillian Hays, Patty was the embodiment of love and devotion to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Oscar, Jim, and Frank DeAngelo, and her niece, Angie Osburn.

Patty leaves behind her devoted husband, Larry Cole, with whom she shared a life of love and partnership. She is also survived by her children, Joseph Keney (and wife, Kelly) and Jodi O'Donnell (and husband, Jeff), her stepson Larry Cole Jr., her brother Joe DeAngelo (and wife, Dee), and her sisters Donna German, Rosetta Sloat (and husband, Al), Rosa Law, Debbie Pritchard (and husband, Joe), and Mary DeAngelo. She was the proud grandmother of Brittany, Darian, Christi, Logan, and Jake, and great-grandmother to five great-granddaughters and two (soon to be three) great-grandsons. Her dear friend, Joe Buzzelli, was a constant source of love and support in her life.

Patty's legacy of love, compassion, and joy will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

She leaves behind a beautiful example of how to live with grace, even in adversity, and to always put the needs of others first. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
