It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Reed, lovingly known as Pat to her family and friends. Patricia's vibrant personality and warm spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She peacefully departed from this world on November 25, 2023, in her hometown of Indianapolis, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy that will endure through the ages.
Born on October 27, 1937, in Indianapolis, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Sarah Mae Jamison and James E. Bandy. Growing up alongside her brother Gerald, she brought joy and laughter into their household. From an early age, it was apparent that Patricia possessed a compassionate heart and an unwavering zest for life.
Throughout her life, Patricia embraced every opportunity to share her warmth and kindness with those around her. She had an innate ability to bring people together always showing her sweet nature and cheerful disposition to everyone she met.
Patricia had a diverse range of hobbies and interests that brought immense joy to her life. She found great pleasure in playing BINGO, and socializing with her friends and caregivers as she cherished every moment spent laughing and sharing stories.
An avid music lover, Patricia found solace in the melodies that danced through the air. Additionally, Patricia possessed a creative spirit and would often spend time painting; allowing colors to flow from her brush onto canvas.
As the holiday season approached each year, Patricia's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she sought out the beauty in Christmas lights and decorated trees. She found solace in these breathtaking displays of creativity and imagination, which became a source of inspiration and joy.
On December 7, 2023, we will gather to honor and celebrate Patricia Reed's remarkable life. The viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. These heartfelt ceremonies will be held at Flanner Buchanan- Speedway, located at 2950 North High School Road in Indianapolis. Patricia's final journey will conclude with a Graveside Service at Anderson Cemetery at 6501 E 10th St in Indianapolis, commencing at 12:30 PM.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Richard Reed, her mother, Sarah Mae Jamison, her father James E. Bandy and her brother Gerald Bandy. Patricia is survived by her close friend Robyn Bercot and her caregivers and housemates at New Hope of Indiana who will miss her dearly.
Although Patricia Reed has left this earthly realm, her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of all those she touched. Let us remember her with joy and gratitude for the beautiful memories she blessed us with during her time among us. May her soul find eternal serenity and may we find solace knowing she has entered into a peaceful rest.
