Patrick McCormick Obituary

Patrick Michael McCormick
Rochester – Patrick Michael McCormick, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 1, in one of his favorite places, Grand Cayman.
He is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Marion, and his best friend, Kenny Caschette. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann; his cherished daughters Kate (Bo) Brinkman and Maggie (Brett) Fischmann; his siblings Anne Lavery and John (Lucy) McCormick; in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews; his dog, Sophie, and her favorite person, Erin McCormick; and numerous friends - all of whom he loved very dearly.
Pat was a writer and a dreamer, and fulfilled his lifelong goal of publishing his own novel, Lost in Alaska, late last year. He lived a life of great adventure - residing in places like Alaska, Ireland, and St. Thomas, where he worked as a shark feeder and dive instructor. After moving back to Rochester, he met the love of his life, Ann, and built a life full of friendships, travel, and fun. He often regaled us with stories of his favorite people, tales of his times abroad, and the characters he met along the way.
To know Pat was to know joy and kindness, and what it is to be loved. He was goofy, a good listener, an amazing husband and father, and an incredible friend to many. His strength in the face of adversity, including a Parkinson's diagnosis later in life, will continue to inspire. The love and laughter he brought into the world will never be forgotten, and he will be incredibly missed.
Mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt St, Rochester, NY 14610. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat's memory may be made to Catholic Charities of Rochester, the Parkinson's Foundation, or Habitat for Humanity of Rochester. Prayers would be appreciated for the family, the Yankees, and Notre Dame football.
