Patsy A. Erickson, 88, of Freeport, IL, passed away Friday September 27, 2024 at Ascension Living Saint Joseph in Freeport. She was born July 8, 1936 in Freeport, the daughter of Carl and Berniece (Rutter) Thompson. On May 15, 1965 she married Harold Erickson at First Baptist Church in Freeport. Harold passed away December 18, 1971.
Patsy worked at the Freeport School District for many years and also at FHN Memorial Hospital in Central Supply for ten years. She was a member of Zion Church of Freeport.
Patsy found joy in many areas of her life from getting dinner with friends, listening to music, watching game shows, and journaling. Patsy loved to write whether she was jotting down the events of the day or solving her favorite word seach puzzles. She constantly listened to the radio throughout the day, but at night it was gameshow time! You could always find Patsy watching Jeopardy, or participating in games herself with Tuesday Bingo.
She is survived by her three children, Kristine (Brett) Ivankovich of Peoria, AZ, Mark (Andrea) Erickson of Cedarville, IL, and Lori (Terrance) Wimberly of Kenosha, WI; one brother Larry Thompson of Ridott, IL; one sister Mary Kay Baumann of Baileyville, IL; and five grandchildren, Jordan Erickson, Alexander Wimberly, Taylor Wimberly, Alyssa Ivankovich, and Daniel Ivankovich.
Preceding Patsy in death is her husband, daughter Kathleen, sister-in-law Joy Thompson, and brother-in-law Dave Baumann.
Private family services will be held. A memorial has been established in Patsy's memory.
