Belchertown – Paul C. Bacon, 73, passed away March 11, 2022 from pancreatic cancer at his home in Belchertown, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He leaves behind his loving partner of 57 years, Albert St. Denis; his two step-daughters, Karen Genereux and Louise Reiter; his grandchildren, Elissa Morrell, Kyle Genereux, and Bradley and Brian Beaudin; his great-grandchildren, Luke, Jacob and Abigail Morrell, Mason and Connor Genereux and Brynley Beaudin; his nephew, Charles Pikul; his nieces, Christine Ennis, Marcia Nadeau, Carolyn Bleau, Anita Pikul and Catherine Poulin as well as many great nieces, nephews and friends.
Paul was born in Ware to Charles and Jeannette (Rouisse) Bacon. He graduated from Ware High School and obtained a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Paul started his accomplished career as a teacher, then became owner of a bookstore in Hadley and General Manager of Fairfield Mall in Chicopee. Paul continued his career managing real estate assets in New York, New Jersey and Georgia for various companies. He later became Vice President, Asset Manager for MassMutual Life Insurance Company where he managed a large portfolio of diverse real estate asset types along the East Coast.
Paul was an avid bridge player. He recently achieved the rank of Diamond Life Member in the American Contract Bridge League.
A Funeral Mass for Paul will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11AM in All Saint's Church, 17 North Street in Ware. Burial will follow in New Saint William Cemetery in Ware. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Paul Bacon can be made to Cooley Dickenson VNA Hospice, P.O. Box 329, Northampton, MA, 01061-0329 or www.giving.vnaandhospice.org.
