Paula Lou Jones, 64, of Baldwin, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Paula was born in
Richmond, Kentucky on Sunday, July 23, 1961, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Lee Curry Jones. She was a life- long resident of the Baldwin Community and is known for her weekly column in the Richmond Register, "Hello from Baldwin." Through this column she shared her love for her neighborhood and community.
She had served as President of the Baldwin Ruritan Club and was a volunteer with the Baldwin 4-H Club for many years.
Paula graduated from Madison Central High School in the Class of 1979. She loved her classmates and always stayed in close contact with many of them. The class reunions were always enjoyable and a special time for her. She had worked at several different jobs; Gibson Greeting, Baskin Robbins Ice Cream and Kentucky Printing.
She was a member of the Bethel Christian Church and recently had attended the Salem Christian Church where she enjoyed participating in the Ladies Circle. Paula served the Lord through her God given talent of singing. Before "canned music" was available, she sang with her guitar in many area churches. All she needed was an invitation. Her smooth southern gospel style was comforting and inspiring. She has sowed gospel seed and lifted the spirits of her audience for many years. She sang her last song on this earth last Sunday evening at the conclusion of a church service, and now she sings in the heavenly choir in the presence of Jesus Christ, her Savior.
She was a regular at the Madison County Farmers Market where she had served as Secretary and Board Member. Paula was truly a "people's person," and she loved the many contacts she made weekly at the market. She enjoyed making crafts and attending craft fairs, especially at Christmas time.
Paula faced many illnesses throughout her life which caused her great challenges. She faced these difficulties with strength and faith and a smile on her face. When her illness prevented her from travelling, she kept up with friends and family through Facebook and was always concerned about them. A special part of her life was shared with her companions, her dogs, the late Sally Sue, and Daisy, who survives.
Survivors include her siblings, Wesley Jones (Debbie), Nelda Smith, (Henry) and Myra Isbell (Garnett); her nieces and nephews whom she loved as her children, James Paul Smith (Tiffany), Kendall Alan Jones (Tiffany) and Kara Leann Jones (Ronnie); great-nieces and nephews, Alysann Smith, Riley Smith, Sawyer Jones, Stella Jones, Shiloh Jones and Sutton Jones; a great-niece, Karmyn Couch; some special friends, Vicki Reynolds, Larry Carpenter and Dennis Roark.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. John McCord and Johny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery.
