April 8, 1932 to October 30, 2024
Pauline H. Leathern of Dover, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Silver Lake Complete Care in Dover. She was 92.
Miss Leathern was born April 8, 1932, at Tybouts Corner, New Castle, Delaware, the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna Leathern. She worked as a sales clerk in retail and drugstores as well as in the Laundry and Housekeeping of various nursing facilities. Pauline thoroughly enjoyed BINGO, her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed making and giving away beautiful Ceramics.
Pauline is preceded in death by her nephew, Mark Redman, Sr., her sisters: Mary Taylor, Ida Steen, Alice Redman, Anna Simmons, and Emily Alfree; and her brother, Herbert Leathern, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Frances Troutman, of the Villages in Florida and by numerous nieces and nephews including: Walter W. Redman III (Judith), Barbara Ann Waltz (Don), Jonathan Waltz (Kaitlyn) and Jameson Waltz, Joshua Waltz, and Jacob Waltz; Bucky Redman (Marjie), Trent Redman (Rachael) and Jasey Redman, and Ryanne Redman; Monica Leleszi (Jim), Logan and Avery Leleszi; Betty Burris (Al), Gail White (Jim), Matt Burris (Marissa), Brandon and MacKenzie Burris, and Heather White, Kaylee and Daniel White; Will Burris (Lisa), Alicia Waite (Kyle), and Noah, Wyatt, Joshua, and Catherine Waite, Aaron Warren and Cole Warren, Brittany Tracy (Cody) and Paisley Tracy, and William Burris; Brian Burris (Katie) and Samuel and Luke Burris; Spring Nichols (Pete) and Peter Nichols; Mark Redman (Jenn) and Alice A. and Jenna Redman; Kathy Bonilla; Lynn Simmons; and Helen Best.
Services are Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 12 PM with Pastor Scot McClymont, with visitation starting at 11 AM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery in Frederica.
