Peggy Jo Spencer, resident of Bacliff, Texas, passed from this life, Monday, December 9, 2024 in Galveston, Texas. Peggy was born in Galveston, Texas to parents Chester Leroy Woods, Jr. and Betty Jo Scheffer on March 9, 1951.
She was a longtime resident of Galveston County, a graduate of LaMarque High School and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Texas City, TX
Peggy was preceded in death by her father Chester Leroy Woods, Jr; her Pop Auburn Scheffer; son Shea Vernon Turner, and brother, Chester L. "Butch" Woods III.
She is survived by her husband, David W. Spencer; mother, Betty Jo Scheffer of Santa Fe, Texas; son, Lyn William Castanie, Jr. and wife Kristi of League City, Texas; sisters, Tammy L. Ousley and husband Bruce of Santa Fe, Texas, and Sandy L Hoff of Bacliff, Texas; grandchildren Blake Michael Castanie, Kassidy Jo Castanie and Austin Turner; Niece and Goddaughter Carina Monteleone and Nieces Megan Tracy and Hannah Tracy and her beloved Aunts Ruth Garner and Nancy Lawrence as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Peggy loved spending time with her family playing cards or visiting and catching up with everyone's lives. She enjoyed planning the annual "Susu's" Family Christmas each year to honor her Grandparents SuSu and Papa and gather the members of the Lawrence, Garner, and Scheffer families
In her honor a Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM, on Thursday, December 19, 2024 in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson, Texas with interment following at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, Hitchcock, Texas.
