Peter "Pete" R. Whitehair, 77, of Burlington, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home.
Born January 15, 1947, in Burlington, he was the son of Oren and Mildred Boyle Whitehair. On May 18, 1991, he married Lou Brown in Rural Wapello.
He graduated from Notre Dame High School.
Pete worked for ISC and for Union Appliance for 20 years each.
He was of the Catholic Faith. Pete loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and always had a sweet tooth. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Whitehair of Burlington; children, Julie (John) Mangold of Washington, Tom (Kim) Whitehair of Hillsdale, IL, Jackie Baker of Burlington, Jennifer (Carissa) Whitehair of Peoria, IL; three granddaughters, Julie Whitehair, Jessica Serrano and Jeanette Burr; two great granddaughters; three great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Chris Whitehair, granddaughter, Jodi Baker and son-in-law, Mark Baker.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Pete used to fish and garden with my grandfather every summer down by the Mississippi River. He had three wonderful children. Julie, Jackie, Tom and I enjoyed many 4th of July celebrations together back in the 80s.
