Phyllis was born a twin on July 16, 1936 in Wauseon, OH to Wayne and Lillian Cook. Her and her twin brother did not have names for a week because they were not expecting twins.
Phyllis graduated from Montpelier, OH High School and Bowling Green State University. She was an elementary school teacher for Toledo Public Schools for 37 years. 33 of those years were at Arlington Elementary.
She was a member of Maumee United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher’s honorary society.
Phyllis worked for many years for the Stranahan Theater. She enjoyed many trips to Europe with her friend, Carol Kumpe.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Steve) Weber and grandchildren, Kurt (Samantha) and Abby Weber.
A private graveside service will be held at Schiffler Cemetery, Pulaski, OH, next to the once owned family farm.
Those wishing to make a memorial are asked to consider the Maumee United Methodist Church, Maumee, OH or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
