Today we are coming to you with a heavy heart, Primitivo "Primo" Garcia Jr., has peacefully passed to spend eternal life with our Lord, he was surrounded by his loving family. Primo was born in Benavides, Texas on October 4, 1939 to his parents, Primitivo Garcia and Omadee Barton Garcia. He was a 1958 graduate of Benavides High School and attended Del Mar College where he received his degree in Welding. Primo worked as a welder all his life and was employed with various oil and gas industries and was a rancher and cowboy who loved his horses, rodeos and roping. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always involved in family ropings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Primitivo and Omadee Barton Garcia; his sister, Oma Herman ("Buddy") Fairchild.
Primitivo is survived by his wife of 61years of marriage, Dora Briones Garcia of Orange Grove, Texas; his children Gianna Maria Flores (Luis Javier Flores of Banquete, Texas; Annie Garcia Vera of Banquete, Texas; Ricky Carlos Garcia of Laredo, Texas; Lee Edward Garcia of Banquete, Texas; his sister, Irma Rios of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Brandy Lynn Vera, Victor Vera IV, Ricky Garcia Jr., Randy Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2023 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Interment will follow at Benavides Cemetery in Benavides, Texas.
