Raymond Keith Sherman, 60, of Abingdon, Illinois, died at 6:43 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Keith was born March 23, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of William Clyde and Izora Mae (Carrier) Sherman. Keith married Sandra Lynn Harris on October 11, 1984 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Sandy survives of Abingdon; as do his three sons, Brian (Ariel) Sherman of Abingdon, Brad (Angel Ferch) Sherman of Galesburg, and Timmy Mau of Abingdon. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Brayden Sherman, Kylie Sherman, Devon Sherman, Ethan Pemberton, Ashton Sherman, Avary Sherman, Lily Sherman, Izabella Sherman, Maleki Arnold, Kayden Arnold, and Bentley Sherman. He is also survived by three brothers, Bob (Paulette) Dirden of Herrin, Illinois, Donald Sherman of Sacramento, California, and Eric (Lorna) Sherman of Lexington, Kentucky; and two sisters, Patricia (Dennis) Smith of Marion, Illinois and Debbie (Woody) Lyle of Herrin. Along with his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a brother, Herb Sherman; and two nephews, Jason Dirden and Greg Sherman.
Keith was full of life. You could catch him at the figure 8 track, working in his garage with friends, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. A celebration of life will follow at the Knoxville American Legion, Knoxville, Illinois from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
