Ralph "Sam" Coffey Jr. Obituary
Ralph “Sam” Lewis Coffey Jr, 57, of Nelsonville, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Sam was born on February 14, 1968, in Nelsonville, the son of Sylvia (Marstiller) Coffey and the late Ralph Coffey Sr.
Sam loved hunting, fishing, and racing. Sam was known as the most devoted fan and supporter of his nieces' and nephews' sports teams, particularly the softball teams. Sam was also an avid OSU Buckeyes and Nelsonville Buckeyes football fan.
Sam is survived by his mother, Sylvia; sister, Anna (Stephen) Hembree; sister-in-law, Sherry Coffey; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Kevin) Roberts, Katrina (Mike) Garnes, Abigale (Tylor) Newman, Alexander (Tori) Hembree, and Autumn Hembree (Levi); great nieces and nephews, Kenzie, Liam, Braylee, Maisyn, Kaiden, and Emersyn; aunt and uncle, Larry and Patty Coffey; and several special friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his father and brother, Mark Coffey.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Oak Grove Wesleyan Church, 13771 Kimberley Rd, Nelsonville. A service will follow at 5 pm with Pastor David Jackson officiating. Arrangements are with the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
