Regina Annette Johnson was born November 11, 1967, in Ocala, FL, the daughter of Robert & Jackie Vincent Holloway. She lived most of her life in Southwest Georgia where she was known as an animal whisperer. Regina was a Christian by faith.
By nature, Regina was a free spirit who enjoyed the outdoors. She was intrigued by wolves, horses, and Indians. The folklore captured her attention as she related it to her own life. She served as caretaker for animals that seemed to wander into her life and for those who hung around regularly, like the fish she fed daily.
Regina was all about her children and grandchildren. She loved playing practical jokes and laughing at their responses. Her fondest memories include times they spent together fishing, sharing stories of who caught the most or the biggest, and generally aggravating them as only a mother could.
Survivors include her children, Angel Leggett of Savannah, Kevin & Jennifer Maxwell and James Maxwell, all of Climax, Wade & Jamie Heard of Chattanooga, and Josh & Mistie Heard of Cairo; her grandchildren, Katelyn & Brian, Kyle & Willo, Alania & Wayne, Payten & Jeffrey, Annalisa, Bristol, Malia, Savannah, Aeron, Dimitri, Hillary, Mara & Bryan, Eli, Bryce, Hunter, Audrey, Emma, Thomas, and Jacob; her great-grandchildren, Kate, Elijah, Madilyn, Jeffrey, and Emersyn; her brother, Jimmie Johnson; and her companion, Jimmy Anderson. In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Laythern Heard and Gene Maxwell; and her brother, Robert Johnson.
