Richard G. Butts, 84, of Everett, PA, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024.
He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 14, 1940, a son of the late Roger and Olivia (Gessford) Butts.
On July 6, 1969, he married Connie F. (Bostic) Butts, in Baltimore, MD.
Richard is survived by his wife, Connie Butts; two sons, Richard (Ricky) Butts II and girlfriend Jacqueline Dilley, and Shawn Butts and wife Alyssa (Means); a daughter, Lori Hawkins and husband Robert; ten grandchildren, Jessie Fetter, Strett, Lacey, and Jacob Ryan, Alexis Keebaugh, Lindsey Riley, Keirsten LaSalle, Laikyn, Alyia, and Addy Butts; and four great-grandchildren, Haylee Fetter, Oakley Fetter, Scarlet Brett, and River Riley.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in passing by a brother, Roger Butts, and a daughter, Marsha Ryan.
After graduating from high school, he worked as a deli clerk for Giant Food Store for many years until his retirement.
One of Richard's favorite hobbies was the art of wood working. He discovered the joy of working with his hands and creating something truly unique which gave him a sense of relaxation. He was also an outdoor enthusiast. Richard especially enjoyed kayaking and camping, which nurtured his love of nature.
Richard's greatest treasure in his life was the time spent with his adoring family.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 12:00 PM, at El Bethel Assembly of God, Clearville, with Pastor Vincent Smith officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at El Bethel Assembly of God.
Burial will be at Mt. Zion Christian Cemetery, Clearville, PA
