It is with great sadness that the family of James Keith Fontenot, 70, of Lake Arthur, LA, announces his passing on July 25, 2024.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday July 29, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur. A Cursillo Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m., leading into the service at 2:00 p.m., with Deacon Wayne Chapman officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Thornwell Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
James was born on March 07, 1954, in Jennings, LA, to Joseph Fontenot and Barabara Doucette Fontenot. He was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School. He enjoyed being outdoors, more so riding horses and working cattle. James cherished his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Stephanie Fontenot; sons, Wesley (Chelsie) Fontenot and Joseph (Kristi) Fontenot; sisters, Cheryl Ogea, Mary Savoie and Annette Gary; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, JoAnn Rushing; a grandchild, Josh Bumgarden; and a great grandchild, Sawyer Guillotte.
Carrying him through his final journey will be, Trevor Landry, Courtland Broussard, Jeffery Landry, Trace Broussard, Timothy Landry and Chad Hebert. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gus Fontenot.
