Richard "Dick" Hall of Eastham passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on October 6, 2024, at the age of 89, after a long struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was the loving husband of Flora (Roberts) Hall for 63 years. Dick was the devoted father of Cynthia Hall of Easton, Richard Hall Jr. and his wife Shacora of Taunton, Craig Hall of Brockton, and Amy Blakesley of Eastham. He was a cherished Papa to his eight grandchildren: Auburn Hall, whom he helped raise, Ashley and Samantha Doane, Grace, Abigail and Richard Hall III, Wyatt and Jessica Blakesley and great grandchildren Emmett, Genevieve, and Elena. He is survived by his brother William and his wife Phyllis of Mountain View, California, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends, especially his Men's Thursday Poker Club.
Richard was born on November 30, 1934, to the late William and Thelma Hall. He grew up in Clinton and Brockton, graduating from Brockton High in 1952. After which Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force for a term of four years and was stationed in both Korea and Florida. After the military, he went on to graduate from Bentley and Northeastern University with degrees in finance.
Richard and Flora married in 1960 and moved to Easton, Massachusetts, where they raised their children and lived happily for 42 years. While in Easton, Dick was active in youth sports, a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and an elected member of the Easton School Committee. Dick operated Cinric Kennels, where he raised Miniature Schnauzers and Golden Retrievers. Bobby Orr and Wayne Cashman each had one of his schnauzers. In his retirement Dick was an active real estate agent and was also a member of Pine Oakes Tuesday night Men's League, where he had his first of three hole in ones.
After permanently moving to Eastham in 2002, Richard became an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and continued his career as a real estate agent. He was an avid golfer and member at the Chequessett Country Club, where he played for many years in the men's league and proudly scored his second and third hole in ones there. Richard loved spending time with family and was the proud host to many Fourth of July family reunions, at one point, hosting 39 people in his home for a week. Everyone knew he would never say no to a game of cribbage. He will be greatly missed.
Our family would like to extend our appreciation to the Broadreach Hospice Organization for their care and support during the later stages of his illness.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 310 MA-137, Harwich, MA. The family will be available at the church for visitation before the service. Interment to follow at the St. Peter's Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Martha's Vineyard CP, Camp Jabberwocky, PO Box 1357, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568-1357.
