Richard Taylor Harrington, age 61, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024.
Richard was born on May 10, 1963, in Dickson, Tennessee, to the late Clarence Paul Harrington and the late Thelma Lucille Wilson Everly. A talented self-employed carpenter, he cherished working alongside his son, who was also his best friend until his passing. Richard was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for fishing and hunting; he found peace and joy whether he was in the woods or on the river.
Richard had a special bond with his dog, "German," who was truly his best friend and constant companion. He was also a wonderful cook, particularly known for his delicious catfish. His interests were unique and varied-he had a deep appreciation for Bigfoot and an abiding faith in Jesus. Above all, he loved being called "PawPaw" and treasured the time spent with his beloved grandson. Richard enjoyed being involved in the Boy Scouts with his grandson, sharing countless adventures and making cherished memories. Richard had a close and loving relationship with his daughter, Sheena, who always remained a "daddy's girl," and he was like a father to her son.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Sheena (Adam) Baer; siblings, Billy Ray Harrington, Debbie Sue Smithson, and Sharon Ashworth; and his grandson, Traven Lee Anderson. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Jewell Harrington, and his siblings, Sheila McCandless and Danny Harrington.
