Mr. Richard William Healey, 80, passed away on October 8, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds hospice home. He was born on April 5, 1944, in Kennerdell, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Healey and Lottie Shaffer Healey. Richard was proud to have retired from the United States Air Force after over 22 years of service. Following his service, he worked as a security officer with Loss Prevention Services for many years. Richard enjoyed photography, bird watching, and being in nature. He loved taking rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway with his wife. Growing up on a dairy farm, Richard learned skills he would use later in life to raise goats and produce goat cheese on his property. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Edward A. Healey, and two brothers; Robert and Ronald Healey. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sumiko E. Healey, four grandchildren; Jessica, Stephanie, Alex, and Zachary, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Roger Healey of Las Vegas, Nevada, and two nieces; Jill Simmons (David), and Kerri Stanley (Rick). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday October 15, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Chaplin Major Stephen Linkous officiating. Inurnment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
