Richard Reader Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Jan. 7, 2025.
Richard (Dick) G. Reader born May 4, 1935 in Taft, California passed away Friday, January 3, 2025.
Richard was an intelligent, fun loving, and passionate man. He proudly served his country as an Army Medic in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was an enthusiastic pilot who loved flying his own personal plane. He was always up for an adventure, was a fun man, always joking and making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Daniel Reader.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judith (Judy), daughters Cheryl and Lori, and stepdaughters Amy and Chelsea, along with seven grandchildren.
No services per his wishes.

I have known Dick for over twenty-five years and had the great honor of being his best man for his wedding to Judy. In all of this time I remember a kind, caring, and supportive man, one always willing to help when he could and offer humorous and thoroughly entertaining comments when things didn´t go exactly as planned.

Throughout his life he was able to overcome adversities that would conquer a lesser man but he would prevail and become even stronger.

I am aware that these words are inadequate to convey the reality of the loss to Judy and his family but I hope they provide some comfort. He will be greatly missed.
