Mr. Richard F. Wilder, age 86, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. He was born to the late George and Delores Wilder on July 28, 1938, in Bedford, Indiana.
After completing high school, Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving as an aircraft electrician until his retirement. His dedication to service continued with a second career in civil service, retiring on duty at NAS Pensacola, Florida.
Richard was a man of many passions and was actively involved in the Moose Lodge, the VFW, and community life. He enjoyed competing in pool tournaments, playing golf, and serving as a golf marshal at the Fort Walton Beach Country Club. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather who treasured his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Patricia, and his daughter, Donna Mansfield Prohaska. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Terry) Enochs, and his son-in-law, Tom Prohaska. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jennifer Hughes, Joleen (Patrick) Torres, and Jamie Wright; his great-grandchildren, Michael, Patricia, Marcel, Marcus, Chase, Joseph, and Aidan; and his great-great-grandchildren, J'Lynn, Jocelynn, Jacquilynn, and Lila.
Richard's life was a testament to service, love, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
