Ricky Denvial Mason, 64 passed away peacefully in his home in Texarkana on October 14, 2024.
Ricky was born on October 18th, 1959, in Magnolia to Rayford Denvial and Mary Jane Mason. When Ricky was only three years old, he lost his dad to an accident in the oil field. Mary Jane remarried Morris West and the two of them lovingly raised Ricky and his brothers in the Forest Place neighborhood in
Magnolia, Arkansas.
Ricky was known for his outgoing personality and ability to make people laugh. He was the life of the party and everyone genuinely enjoyed being around Ricky. He was a great friend to many people. He was also someone who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He once dove into a flooded roadside ditch and pulled someone out of a truck that was flipped upside down under water. He loved to ride motorcycles, water ski, fish, hunt, and all other outdoor activities and he shared his love of the outdoors with his family.
He was a born businessman, salesman, and leader in the workplace. He owned/managed multiple different businesses throughout his life including Security Enterprises, National Healthcare, Power House Screen Printing, Deco-Crete, and a Food Truck with his son, Jeffrey in Las Vegas where several famous people frequented. He was an encouraging leader in the workplace as demonstrated by the numerous long-lasting friendships he has accumulated over the years.
Ricky's greatest joy in his life was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything and demonstrated that love each and every day. He dedicated the last 21 years of his life to River, Rider, Maely, Gracyn, and Armani Mason. Ricky has been instrumental in the daily lives of Maely and Gracyn since they were born. If you saw Ricky out and about, you saw one or both of them by his side. They were his little shadows and he was "their G-daddy". When River was little and lived in Magnolia, you rarely saw Ricky without River by his side, they were "best buddies" and the bond that was formed between them will carry on in River for the rest of his life. Rider refers to G-daddy as his "best friend" because he could talk to him about anything and everything with no fear of judgement. Armani loved spending time with her G-daddy and he made her laugh out loud all the time!
He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott Mason, his mom, Mary Jane West, his dad Rayford Denvial Mason, his stepdad, Morris West, his brother Denny Mason, his grandmother, Helen Allen who everyone fondly referred to as "Mamaw", and sister-in-law Rhonda Mason.
He is survived by his son Brian Mason of Magnolia, his brother Randy Mason of Magnolia, grandchildren River Mason of Cabot, Rider Mason, Maely Mason, and Gracyn Mason of Waldo, and Armani Mason of Bossier City, niece Tiffany Whitehead and spouse Matt of Fort Worth, great niece and nephew Maddie and Maddox of Forth Worth, nephew Justin Mason of Magnolia, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 PM.
