Ricky "Buck" "Pretty Ricky P" Payton Jr., 40, of Bardstown, passed away Friday March 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born October 27, 1984 in Bardstown, a former plumber in construction, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, and had may friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, anything outdoors, and an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He was a natural practical jokester.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dora Hazel "Nanny Cox" Payton and Arthur Payton Jr.; maternal grandparents, Robert Nokomis Auberry and Barbara Josephine Auberry; two uncles, Larry Payton, and Keith Payton; two aunts, Gretta Diane Sorrell and Lana Payton Curtsinger; and two cousins, Scott "Scooter" Curtsinger, and Timothy Michael Auberry.
He is survived by his three children, Alexis Nicole (Hunter) Downs, Ricky Wood Payton III, and Bryan Lane Payton; grandson, Derek Alan Kash Downs; parents, Ricky Wood Payton Sr and Vickie Lynn Payton; two sisters, Angela Dawn Payton (Robbie) Boblitt, and Christy Nagale Payton (Henry) Lopez; mother of his children, Katie Payton; girlfriend, Melissa Clark all of Bardstown; and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
His funeral service will be 12:00 pm Thursday March 27, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Pastor Jason Mattingly will officiate. Visitation will be 10 - 12 pm Thursday March 27 at Barlow Funeral Home.
