Robert Campbell Obituary

Robert Dean Campbell was born June 22, 1942, in Webster City, Iowa, to Gaius "Gay" and Verla (Doolittle) Campbell. After graduating from Eagle Grove High School, he spent two years in the United States Army and then he came home to farm with his dad. His father would get frustrated with Bob because he would take things apart and not put them back together. Bob demonstrated outstanding problem-solving abilities and thrived on addressing intricate challenges. He always had a joke and loved to play pranks on people.
On February 14, 1990, Bob married Sandra Knutson. Bob primarily lived in the Eagle Grove area, where he farmed and held various other jobs.
Bob was an active member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he would greet guests and run the sound system. He traveled to China in 2015 with a group from the church.
Bob helped build model trains and gas engines – shipping them all over the world. He loved his animals – horses, mules, dogs and cats – often found sharing his lunch with them- tractors and his motorcycle trips with friends. Bob built a covered wagon that he drove in many parades.
Bob passed away on April 6, 2025, at Rotary Senior Living, at the age of 82 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Morris, Don, Gilbert, Charles and Paul Campbell; sisters-in-law, Joan, Ethel and Cindy Campbell and brothers-in-law, Dean Rasmussen and Lyle Christensen.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Campbell; stepdaughter, Audrey Havican; three sisters, Marie Christensen, Yvonne Rasmussen and Sandra Napier; sisters-in-law, Helen Campbell and Jackie Campbell, and many nieces, nephews, honorary grandchildren and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial in Cass Center Cemetery, Webster City.
Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
