Robert Alan Cook, 77, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away on October 30, 2024. Born on July 4, 1947, he was a beloved figure known for his good sense of humor, diligent work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. Robert graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, NJ, and furthered his education at Union County Technical Institute.
His career was marked by significant contributions to several companies; beginning at IBM, moved on to Kodak, then Danka, and retired from Konica. He also dedicated many years to serving the community as a member of St. John's First Aid Squad in Fords, NJ.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Veronica Cook, and his two daughters, Terri Gavlick, (husband Rick) and daughter, Jacquelyn Cook. Most importantly he was a proud Poppy to Logan and her husband Mason Rambus, Jordan, Makayla, Tyler, and Julia. He is also survived by his sister Carole Barrett, her husband Raymond, his sister-in-law, Catherine Sauer, his brother-in-law, Jack Clifford, and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Roger Cook.
Robert's life was a testament to his enduring love and commitment to his family and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to: the Parkinson's Foundation, or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
