Robert Patrick Dillard (Bob) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on the 27th of August, 2024 at the age of 68. Bob was born on the 17th of March 1956 in San Antonio, TX; the youngest of five children to Percy Oliver and Maybelle (Blandford) Dillard.
Bob married Sharon Lynn Moczygemba on the 4th of May, 1985 in San Antonio, TX where they started their life together and eventually settled in Floresville, TX in 2002 where every Saturday Bob would make the absolute best BBQ in Texas.
Bob joined the US Navy in June of 1976, then eventually the US Navy Reserves, where he proudly served for a total of 31 years, eventually retiring in July of 2007.
Bob was a journeyman at M&M Metals in San Antonio, TX - starting there just before him and Sharon got married - eventually retiring in October 2021.
Bob is survived by his very loving and devoted wife Sharon; his children Julie and Gregory Dillard; his sisters Ollie and Irene; and his brothers George and John.
Services will be held on Wednesday, the 4th of September, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, TX. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM, followed by a recitation the rosary at 10:30 AM, then a Funeral mass at 11:00AM. Bob will be interred with military honors at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX on September 5th.
Tasha Gray - Julie's best friend - has graciously taken on coordinating and preparing a reception at the parish hall following the Funeral services.
