Annette Page Obituary

 

Annette Page passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, surrounded by her entire family after winning her battle with cancer. In the words of her sister, Shannon,

 

      Sometimes we say someone “lost their battle with cancer,” but when I think of Annette's battle, she never complained, she never questioned why, and she never lost her faith that God was in complete control of her life. To me, I will always think that cancer lost its battle with her.

 

She fought a good fight. She finished her course. She won the prize.

 

And winning was something Annette did well. Ask anyone who ever played her in Code Names, Scattergories, or Ticket to Ride. Bananagrams? Don’t even try. She’d be calling out “peel” while you fumbled with your tiles.

 

She won spelling bees, and scholarships, and excelled in all things academic. She attended USU, BYU Jerusalem, and ultimately graduated Summa Cum Laude from Weber State University with a degree in psychology.

 

Her penchant for excellence carried over to her career where she began as the personal assistant to the CEO of a nutraceutical company and ended as his Executive Vice President. Together, they were able to achieve great business success. 

 

Ever the servant leader, her employees, and colleagues praised her freely:

 

          ~Witty, fun to be around, and so knowledgeable and helpful…I will always remember her with happy thoughts and good memories.

 

          ~You could give her any assignment and she would figure it out. Her results always exceeded anything you could ever do yourself. She had a photographic memory and was a master at creating systems and processes.

 

Annette loved to travel. She had a goal to see every country and was able to make it to 76 of the 195. 

 

From Machu Picchu to the Cliffs of Moher, Annette saw the world and returned with stories of excitement and misadventure. 

 

In Greece, she sprained her ankle saving a 4-wheeler from hurling off a precipice. In New Zealand, she nearly drowned whitewater rafting Class V rapids. And in Tunisia, Uruguay, Ghana, and countless other places, she saved her sister Sharee from certain death at the hands of kidnappers, thieves, and other lowly predators. She could always be counted on to keep Sharee safe and out of danger.

 

Of all the roles that Annette played, her favorite–hands down–was that of Aunt. She absolutely adored her nieces and nephews and was never too busy to snuggle on the couch or attend a soccer game, birthday party, or school play. 

 

She kept her pantry stocked with cookies and candy, and her freezer chock full of ice cream and popsicles. Her basement was converted into an indoor roller rink. To say that her little ones are heartbroken at her passing is the understatement of the century. 

 

She left an indelible mark on their tender hearts. She will be missed and recalled with fondness.

 

Annette loved music and was a talented musician. She played the piano, beautifully. And, at the request of her church leader, she learned to play the organ so that she could accompany the congregation.

 

She also played the flute and the piccolo, and when her teacher needed someone to play the sousaphone (tuba), she agreed to learn it so that the marching band could have a complete ensemble.

 

Annette was epic like that. 

 

She was a true team player; always willing to serve wherever needed. 

 

She was a next-level listener and a world-class comforter. She had a way of making everyone feel special as evidenced by the sentiments shared by family and friends on social media upon hearing of her passing:

 

      “Annette was beautiful inside and out. She always made you happy just being around her.  She will be missed so much!!!”

 

      “She was the kindest, sweetest, smartest soul... An inspiration to live life fully + joyfully in  all seasons.”

 

       “Annette was and forever will be a beautiful, amazing, sweet, and influential person. She really did spread joy and love wherever she went.”

 

        “Annette was truly an angel who left a lasting impression on everyone who was lucky enough to be in her company.” 

 

        “I have so many fond memories with her and not a single one was without a smile or laugh. She had a gift of lifting those around her. She will be missed.”

 

        “She was such a beautiful, kind soul”

 

        “She was the bestest of friends and the best cheerleader.”

 

        “She was so amazing. Every time she was in the room, she just had a brightness about her! So sweet and kind.”

 

        “Annette was always someone I looked up to and she was always so kind to me. She will never be forgotten.”

 

        “She was a genuine, loving, kind woman! She was always such a wonderful person!!! Very Christlike!!!”

 

        “Annette was pure goodness.” 

 

       “Annette always did what was right. ALWAYS.”

 

       “You always felt important when Annette was around.”

 

       “Annette Page is truly a light, and her light will continue to shine. She will be greatly missed.”

 

      “This earth has lost one of its very finest souls! My heart breaks for those she leaves behind! Even with all her suffering, till the very end, she was soo kind and soo gracious. She touched everyone she met… If we could all be just a little more like Annette imagine what a better place this world would be.”

 

In the words of her sister, Sharee,

 

       Annette had the ability to make everyone feel like they were her best friend and her genuine concern for others was ever-present even in her darkest hours. She was hilarious, witty, and smart as a whip! She was the life of the party and everyone who met her loved her!  Her example of service, generosity and just plain goodness will live on in the countless lives she has touched.

 

Annette was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She knew the doctrine, lived the commandments, and loved her fellowman.

 

In the words of her sister-in-law, Rachel, 

 

     She was everything kind, strong, and good. She shared her testimony of the gospel and faith in God not just through word, but through her actions and example every day.

 

It was ultimately her faith in Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation that sustained her in her darkest hours. She believed firmly that death is not the end and that she will indeed live again.

 

In the words of her brother, Matt,

 

     She loved God and His gospel, and she lived it every day. I will forever be grateful for the example she set for me and others.  I'm sure her reunion on the other side with her family members was a beautiful and joyous one. 

 

     Annette, you will be greatly missed, and we can’t wait to see you again when this life is through. We love you!

 

Annette is survived by her parents—Steven and Susan Savage Page, and all of her siblings and their spouses; Ryan (brother) and Lindsay Tensmeyer Page, Janelle (sister), Sharee (sister), Matt (brother)  and Rachel Richardson Page, Nate and Shannon (sister) McConkie, and her grandmother, Elaine Waldron Page.

 

The family would like to thank the Keller Crossing Ward for their devoted service, and all of the doctors, nurses, and amazing medical personnel who treated Annette over the past 6 years. She loved and appreciated you, and we are all eternally grateful for your kindness, compassion, and genuine care.

 Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. (MST) the Crestwood Chapel, 1059 E. Crestwood Rd., Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit with family Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
