Rodney Dee Looper, aged 70, passed away on October 17, 2024, in Wills Point, Texas. Born on December 8, 1953, in Mesquite, Texas, Rodney retired from Wills Point ISD Transportation, in 2019. Prior to this, he worked with BFI Trash and Henderson Concrete, contributing tirelessly to his community.
A man of faith, Rodney worshipped at Bull Creek Cowboy Church, where he was a beloved member of the Christian community. His hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors; he was an avid roper, enjoyed attending rodeos, and had a deep passion for horses. Rodney's love for play days were well known among his friends and family.
Rodney is survived by his sons, Rodney Looper, Jr. and Zachariah T. Looper; daughter, Kriston McSpadden and her husband, Cole; brother, Rodger Looper and his wife, Margaret; and sister-in-law, Kay Looper. He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie Kim Looper; parents, Clyde and Frances Looper; brother, Butch Looper; and sister, Mary Ritchie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mullin Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point, Texas. Rodney's life and legacy will be honored by family, friends, and all who knew him as a funny, kind, and yet, hard-headed man who was truly "a good brother."
