Rodney Macy Obituary

Rodney Finley Macy, age 71 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away October 1, 2024 at Med Center Health Bowling Green. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on January 11, 1953, son of the late A. O. Macy Jr. and Bernice Finley Macy. Rodney was a 1971 graduate of Breckinridge County High School and a 1975 graduate of Western Kentucky University. He earned the FFA American Farmer Degree. He was a member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church where he was part of the van ministry program. Rodney loved collecting toy tractors, implements and playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching their sporting events and was their biggest fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother A. O. "Butch" Macy, III.
Rodney is survived by his wife Sheila D. Macy of Hardinsburg, KY
2 children: Dr. Brian Macy (Gretchen) of Bowling Green, KY and Lauren Taul (Joel) of Falls of Rough, KY
6 grandchildren: Jay and Emma Macy, Preston, Lucy, Trevor and Parker Taul
1 brother: Bruce Macy (Cindy) of Lewisport, KY
1 sister-in-law: Ruth Macy Hobbs of New Mexico
Niece and nephews: James Macy, Kayla Cabrera, Marc and Derek Macy
Funeral services will be held at Hardinsburg Baptist Church on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11 AM with burial in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, 4-7 PM and Friday 9 – 11 AM. All times are central.
