Roger Lee Adams, age 73, passed away peacefully at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi, on September 15, 2024. He was born on January 24,1951, to Jamie M. Adams and Naomi Doss. He was a devoted husband, father, pawpaw, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Roger retired from the Army National Guard after over 30 years of service. He dedicated many years of service as a police officer in both Houston and Houlka, Mississippi.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Brenda Adams, and his children: Jamie Adams (Jami) of Columbus, MS; Shane Adams and Amanda Hitchcock of Nettleton, MS; Mary Beth Parchman of Plantersville, MS; and Alicia Gardner (Michael) of Tupelo, MS; 16 grandkids and 3 great grand kids; and his favorite sidekick, Janice Reeves, his sister-in-law.
Roger is also survived by his siblings: sisters Linda Westmoreland of Starkville, MS and Cindie Whittle (Lynn) of Mesquite, TX; brothers Rex Adams (Diane) of Dallas, TX; Gary Aven (Donna) of Commerce, TX; Randy Aven of Meridian, ID.
He was preceded in death by his son Scottie Adams, parents Naomi and Tadpole Doss, Jamie M. and Eva Adams; his brothers Randle Adams and Gayland Doyle, and his sister La'Na Boone.
Roger enjoyed fishing, discussing and collecting all types of guns, spending time at Mt. Jack's Pawnshop, and the companionship of his four-legged friend, Rock.
Visitation will be September 17th from 5 PM to 7 PM at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, MS. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, at 10 AM at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, MS with Dr. Randy Rinehart officiating. The burial will be at Elzey Cemetery in Vardaman. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Roger Adams.
Pallbearers will be Roger's grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to:
