Ronald Voss, age 84, of Holland, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 7, 2024.
He was born to Ted and Florence Voss in Holland, Michigan. Ron graduated from Holland Christian High School and was a charter member of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. After high school Ron enlisted in the United States Army Medical Reserve Unit program. There he met his buddy, Will Warners who introduced him to Mary on a blind date.
Ron's life was defined by hard work in the family business, Voss Septic Systems. He enjoyed restoring vintage Model A Ford cars and was a founding member of the Holland Vintage Car Club. Many mornings found him at Marlenas having breakfast with his friends who appreciated his dry sense of humor, often telling new acquaintances that he still had his first car (a Model A bought at age 15), his first job, first wife, first house, first boat and Eagle scooter. He did not like change!
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary (Cleypool) Voss; brother, Dave (Pat) Voss; sister, Dawn (Doug) Schurman; sons: Don (Rhonda) Voss, Brendon (Melissa) Voss and daughters, Laura (Monti) Estes and Lisa (Mark) McKellips; grandchildren: Mike (Megan) Kortering, Shawn (Jenna) Voss, Amber (Rob) Olinzock, Daniel (Tricia) Kortering, Michelle (Jason) Brink, Makayla (Cody) Brewer, Jaden (Alexa) McKellips, Paige Voss, Ben Voss, Piper Voss and 14 great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 14, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 15, at 11:30am, at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 918 Central Avenue, Holland. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service. Reverend Matthew Stob will preside over the ceremony. A live stream link is located on Ron's obituary page at www.dykstrafuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holland Christian Schools or Hospice of Holland.
Professional service entrusted to the Mulder Chapel.
