He participated in the town's Babe Ruth baseball team and played youth hockey for Erie Youth Hockey on both house and travel teams for several years. While living in Florida, he became a youth hockey coach and played hockey for the Enforcers. He would play in the annual Gun's and Hose's hockey tournaments and won the cup.
