Mars Hill - Ronald Adrian Hallett born December 24, 1934, passed away suddenly, at home, on August 20, 2024. He was 89 years old.
Ronald always told us the story that upon graduating from high school, he and three buddies each put $10 in an envelope and struck off for New York City. The highlight of the trip being a baseball game at Yankee Stadium. A short time after that infamous trip he served his mandatory 2-years in the U.S. Army. During that time he married, Carolee Clockedile on December 26, 1956. During his service in the Army, he and Carolee lived in Arlington, Virginia, and Revere Beach, Massachusetts. Following his discharge from the Army, they moved back to Mars Hill, where Ronald began his career in the civil service at Loring Airforce Base, where he continued to work until his retirement on December 24, 1989.
Together Ronald and Carolee raised 6 children. While raising their family, Ronald would often come home on Friday night towing a pop-up camper and we knew right then we were going camping for the weekend. Many great weekend memories were made on those trips. When the kids were finally out of the nest, Ronald and Carolee began to travel further away than just a weekend camping getaway. Ronald loved his trips to Las Vegas and they enjoyed a couple of cruises, one cruise included their four daughters and spouses. Ronald loved his large family and the big family get togethers. He was an avid cribbage player, enjoyed a good game of horseshoes, and especially loved playing pool in the pool room he had built after he retired, and was always up for a game with anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolee, sister Betty Hatch and her husband Richard, sister Delores Jones, sister-in-law Patricia Carver, and brother-in-law Gerald Clockedile. Only three children survive him. Kimberlee and her husband Steve Woodworth, Jayne and her husband Scott Munson, and Paige and her husband JB Folsom. He was predeceased by his parents Faye and Gerald Jones, sons Mark Hallett and Tyler Hallett and daughter Nikki McKenney, and a grandson Justin Woodworth. He is also survived by grandchildren Jonathan and Jason Woodworth, Taylor Munson, Haylee Jandreau, Colbi Grosso-Keith, Jordan Folsom, Brandon Hallett, Tyler Hallett II, Brittany Hallett, and Brooke Hallett, and 15 great-children.
