Ronald (Ron) W. Trice, 84, of Fernandina Beach passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025.
Born in Denton, Texas, he was the son of the late Lois Evelyn Renfro Trice and Jarrell D. Trice. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara. He leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda, two children, Shana and Marc, and his granddaughter, Stella.
Ron served honorably in the Air Force, and later worked at NASA in Houston, Texas. He earned his Doctor of Education degree at East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas before moving to Athens, Georgia and accepting a professorial position at the University of Georgia. He was later a professor and Instructional Technology Coordinator at Georgia College State University and as such, worked in Milledgeville and Macon, Georgia, as well as the online environment.
Ron's love for Fernandina Beach grew from the many wonderful vacations that he and his wife, Brenda experienced. After retiring, they moved to Fernandina Beach permanently. They shared a home that was close to Fernandina's gorgeous wildlife and natural beauty, something that Ron always enjoyed immensely.
A private outdoor gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the spring at Fernandina Beach.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity that honors and supports wildlife, the natural environment, or our cherished domestic animal friends and companions who share our lives.

Ron was a wonderful neighbor and we enjoyed knowing him and his lovely wife Brenda after we moved in nextdoor to them in 2019. He was kind, friendly and always interested in our local birds, plants and trees. We were saddened by his passing and miss him.
