Ronnie Mellon Obituary
Ronnie was born on October 5, 1954 in Cleveland County, NC a son of Annie Mae Brittain Mellon of Cherryville and the late James Flay Mellon. He was retired after 25 years as a corrections officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Ronnie was a member of the Cherryville Traditional New Year Shooters. He loved his dogs Army Dog and Camo.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Carpenter Mellon of the home; a son, Isaiah Mellon and wife Laurin of Lincolnton; a granddaughter, Ellah Mellon; one sister, Joyce Sneed and a brother, Eddie Mellon both of Cherryville. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:30PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
Burial will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839 Boone, IA 50037-0839 or to any local church or group that is helping with those who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.
