Rosa Matos Obituary

Rosa M. Matos, age 75, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 8, 2024 at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer's, with her family by her side. Born in Rio Piedras Puerto Rico, she has been a resident of the city of Philadelphia ever since. Rosa loved to cook and dance. She especially loved time spent with her family. Daughter of the late Candida Velasquez and Luciano Matos, she is survived by her children Luis Rodriguez (Yolanda), Candida Rodriguez, Rosemary Martin, her siblings, Gile and Nilda Matos, 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Rosa is predeceased by her brothers and sisters Cheo, Sayo, Luz, Irma, Nena, Benjamin, Efrain and Carlos Matos.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration on Thursday 9/12/2024 from 6 to 8 Pm and on Friday 9/13/2024 from 10 to 11 am at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home 10975 Academy Rd. Phila., Pa. 19154, where her funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery.
