Ruben Jack Matamoras, Jr. passed away on September 21, 2024 at HCA in Pasadena. He was born in Galveston, Texas on December 26, 1992.
Ruben was full of life, outgoing, encouraging, he was very passionate; he always loved to help others, he was always there for his friends when they needed him. Ruben liked music. He and his father had a very close relationship, and he appreciated that his father was always there for him. Ruben had a great smile; he could always light up a room when he walked into it. He was very smart, and always knew a way to help. Ruben was an avid skateboarder, and a skilled artist who loved to draw. His mother loved him very much, and she'll miss him.
Ruben is preceded in death by his brother, Luciano Zuniga, Jr., and his biological father Ruben Matamoras, Sr.
He is survived by his son Aayden Guerra and Aayden's mother Jasmine, his father who raised him Luciano Zuniga, Sr. (Stephanie Shay), his mother Virginia Zuniga, his sister, Falena Matamoras, Brothers, Angel Zuniga, Patrick Zuniga, Anthony Ray-Robles, Cousin Gabrielle Vargas, Best friend Jessica Sendejas, Nieces Laylah Lobet, Luciana Zuniga, Isabella Zuniga, and Annalise Zuniga, and Nephews Ezio Zuniga, Aziel Zuniga, and Maximiliano Zuniga.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Zuniga, Angel Zuniga, Anthony Ray-Robles, Luciano Zuniga, Sr. Gabriel Lobet, and Gabrielle Vargas.
Services are to be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 9th, a funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 10th, with a graveside service to follow directly after at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.
