Willow Spring, NC: Mrs. Lura Mae Gregory Denton, age 86, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Transitions Hospice Center in Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM-1:45PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, Angier, NC. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier, NC. Dr. Brad Lee will officiate.
Mrs. Denton was born in Wake County, NC on October 19, 1939 to the late James Benton Gregory and Myrtle Johnson Gregory. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Denton, and a brother, Lewis Gregory. Mrs. Denton was a retired farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, Angier, NC. Mrs. Denton enjoyed working in her flowers, and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Tony Denton and wife, Julia of Willow Spring, NC, Elaine D. Fleming and husband, Mickey, of Angier, NC and Alan Denton and wife, Debbie of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Crystal Denton, Curtis Denton, Travis Denton and wife, Brandi, Lori Fonseca and husband, Rob, April Page and husband, Levi, Katie Floyd and husband, Brian, Shannon Hymiller and husband, Daniel, Jonathan Silver and wife, Mandie, and Amy Denton and husband, Adam; 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; 4 nephews.
