Mr. Russell Marion Jones, age 74, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Jones, the son of the late George Russell and Virgie Marie Griffieth Jones, was born in Madison County on November 23, 1949. He retired from the Madison County School System as a custodian and bus driver. Later, he also worked for Spartan Rock Products. He loved to fish, watch Westerns and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On October 7, 1988, Russell united in marriage to Maudie Frances Harrison Jones who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: Jeanna Renea (& Donnie) Phillips of Lancaster and Dianna Michelle Pigg of Richmond; his step-son: Ricky Dale (& Martha) Rader; one step-daughter: Debbie Frances Adkins; two brothers: William Jones and Garrett (& Mary) Jones, one sister: Linda (& Larry) Johnson; five grandchildren: Dylan Pigg, Emily (& Jacob) Sparks, Ashley (& Jonathan) Childress, Brian Roberts and Brandon (& Ashley) Roberts; thirteen great grandchildren and two "on the way," 10 step-grandchildren: Ricky (& Jeanette) Rader, Jr., Justin (& Courtney) Rader, Courtney (& Dalton) Estes, Cassandra Reynolds, Matthew Rader, Joseph Rader, Felicia Adkins, Jacob Adkins, Brittany Adkins and Josh Adkins; four step-great grandchildren: Natasha Adkins, Jason Adkins, Daniel Rader and Elijah Enoch Rader, several nieces and nephews and his special friends: Donna Noland and Jerry Evans.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his step-son: Bobby Gene Rader, one brother: Freddy Jones and his step great-grandson: Elijah Rader.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2024, at Flatwoods Cemetery in Waco with Rev. Tanner Cruse officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to assist with funeral expenses.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Evans, Jacob Sparks, Dalton Estes, Justin Rader, Dylan Pigg and Larry Johnson.
