Russell William Perrier
Russell William Perrier, 72, of Ellington, beloved husband of 46 years to Kathleen L. (Winans) Perrier, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1952, in Holyoke, MA, son to the late William Perrier and Theresa (Peloquin) Perrier.
Russ grew up in Enfield, attended local schools and was a graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1970. Following high school, he was employed for over 30 years as a supervisor with Stanadyne Automotive, in Windsor, before his retirement in 2011. After retirement, Russ went to college where he graduated at the age of 62 with a 4.0 GPA, making the President's List at Manchester Community College. Russ's love of music started as a teenager with the Enfield Sabers Drum and Bugle Corp. He was an outstanding bass player, performing throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts with his band mates, "Six Pack of Blues." Russ was also a youth hockey coach in both Enfield and Springfield for many years. In his spare time, you could find him out on the golf course as well as cheering on his favorite teams, the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox. Most of all, Russ looked forward to spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and father, taking care of his family to the best of his abilities. Although our time with Russ has come to an end, his memory will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew him for years to come.
In addition to his wife, Russ is survived by his two sons, Jay Perrier and wife Micaela of Owings Mills, MD, and Randy Perrier of South Windsor; his sister, Debra Lee Corini and husband Larry of FL; his in-laws, Jim Winans and wife Meg, Cindi Boucher, Laury Mciver and husband Joe, and Sheree Winans; his nieces and nephews, Jason Winans and wife Trina, Ginny Prentiss (Dave), Matt Larson (Avalon), Chris Larson (Jessica), Jack Winans, Mackenzie Winans, Sam Winans, Becky Winans, Katie Corini, Justin Corini (Alyssa), and Theo Prentiss. Russ had the greatest gift of two bonus sons, Steve Burgess, who spent many weekends and vacations with the family growing up, and Sylvain Glusko, an exchange student from France, who lived with them 22 years ago, and remain close to this day. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Keith Winans and Jeff Boucher.
