Ruth Browning, 83 of Starke, Florida went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Ruth was born in Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey on January 3, 1941. She grew up in Martinsville, New Jersey and went to Bound Brook High school. Ruth met her future husband, Irvin Browning when she came down to Starke to visit family. Ruth and Irvin would start a family and have their first son, Gary Browning followed by their second son Kenneth Browning. Irvin and Ruth move back to Piscataway, New Jersey where they would live for a few years. They returned to Starke where they still had property and had a third child, Debra Browning. Ruth worked at the sewing factory in Lake Butler for many years and worked at Wal-Mart. She had 5 siblings, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, father Henry Heine and mother Mary Merritt, Lee Heine and Russell Heine and her husband Irvin Browning. She is survived by her three sisters, Alice Rodgers, Eleanor Casey and Carol Smith, and 3 children, Gary Browning of Starke, Kenneth Browning of Starke and Debra McKeown of Starke, 7 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids. Mrs. Ruth loved her grandkids and great grandkids they were her life. She enjoyed baking and tending to her roses and flowers outside. She also loved feeding the birds and crocheting. The family will receive friends at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will start at 1:00 PM with Brother Johnny Frampton officiating. Interment will follow in Sapp Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home of Starke 904-964-6200 www.jonesgallagherfh.com.
