Sallie R. Erwin passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 84.
She was born to parents Theo and Veta Rogers on October 30, 1939 in Kyote, Texas.
Sallie started college at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas where she played basketball and attended her first year of college. She then married the love of her life, Roy Erwin, Sr., and had two wonderful children. She later finished her education at SMU in Dallas, Texas. In 1975 they moved to Devine, Texas where she taught First grade for 32 years and later retired to work beside her husband on the family ranch.
She is preceded in death by her parents Theo and Veta Rogers, husband Roy Erwin, Sr., brothers Kenneth Rogers and Bob Rogers, and sister-in-laws Annadale Rogers and Mira Rogers.
Sallie is survived by her children Roy Erwin, Jr. and Abby Erwin, son-in-law Ken Weiher, brother-in-law Larry Erwin and wife Patricia, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Contributions in Sallie's memory can be made to South Texas Children's Home in Beeville, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at Sand Branch Baptist Church 6200 FM CR 2504, Poteet, Texas with interment to follow at Brummett Cemetery in Bigfoot, Texas.
