Sandra Marie Carroll, age 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 7, 2024. Born on July 4, 1942, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Bruce and Evelyn Andrews, she brought joy and light to everyone around her.
Sandra was married to John Carroll at St. Olaf Lutheran Church on July 21, 1962, and together they created a warm and loving home for their three children. Sandy was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent camping, boating, and fishing with her children and grandchildren, sharing her love for the outdoors.
She looked forward to the annual Cranberry Fest with her two daughters and longtime friend, Katie Pater. She always enjoyed shopping and decorating.
Known for her delicious chocolate peanut butter cookies, Sandra’s cooking was a favorite among family and friends. She worked for many years as the head cook at Neveln Elementary School in Austin. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, often bringing people together around the campfire with a cold beer in hand.
A beautiful person inside and out, with a heart of gold, she was always willing to help others. Sandy found joy in painting and had a deep appreciation for country music, often filling her home with its melodies. She also shared a special bond with her four sisters, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
Sandy's warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carroll; her parents, Bruce and Evelyn Andrews; her sister, Patricia Andrews; her father- and mother-in-law, Curt and Maxine Brost; and brothers-in-law, Jim Carroll, Jim Epley, and Dean Britt.
She is survived by her children, Terri (Brian) Cambern, Julie (Mike) Diaz, and Steven (Beth) Carroll, all in Austin, MN; her beloved grandchildren include Corey Cambern (Chelsy), Jennifer Cambern, Chelsea Hatfield, Travis Hatfield (Robyn), and Tim Carroll (Kallie); her beloved great-grandchildren are Korben, Kaitlyn, Jax, Axel, Tenzlyie, Alexis, Everhett, Blisse, and Sawyer; her sisters are Bonnie Britt, Cheryl Epley, and Sheila (Bob) Helmers; her brother and sisters-in-law are Joe (Evie) Carroll and Mary Carroll; and she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Sandra will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. The visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
Rest in peace, Sandy. Your spirit will forever and always live on in our hearts.
