Sgt. LeRoy E. Dow, service # US67153980, age 77, of Cedar Springs, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at Corewell Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on October 21, 1947, in Muskegon, the son of Lee B. & Emma M. (Dalton) Dow. He was a proud Vietnam veteran and was honorably discharged from the US Army, where he was awarded the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service Medal, with five bronze stars, Purple Heart and Vietnam Campaign medal with 1960 device. He loved being with family most of all. He also loved golfing, fishing, and bowling with his wife Patricia Dow, brother, and sister-in-law Ed and Paulette Dow, drinking beer at the Harvard Bar, rock & roll, and gardening where he grew his favorite plants. He worked for Coit Cement Company. LeRoy is survived by his wife Pat of 40 years; children Angelique (Eric) Welch of Gowen, Tamra (Jerry) Bower of Greenville, Heath (Lisa) Johnson of Howard City and Terry Johnson of Ohio; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Keith (Laura) Dow of Cedar Springs; sister Maude Powers of Greenville; his brother-in-law Mike (Barb) Plumb of Rockford; sisters in law Vicki (Thomas) Droelema of Rockford and Kathy Dow of Gowen; many nieces and nephews and his close friends, including Jim Welch of Gowen and Gary Russell of Oregon, Dewayne & Linda White of Belding, Kirk Welch and Bobbie Moore of Rockford and family among many others. His parents preceded him in death; brothers Norman Dow and Edward L. Dow (wife Paulette), brother-in-law Emerald Powers, and close friend Billie Jo Welch. Memorial Services will be 3 PM Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, along with Full Military Honors from the Greenville American Legion Post #101 of Greenville.
