Sharon Fisher, 77 of New Sharon passed away Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2024 at her son, Alan's, house in New Sharon under hospice care. Funeral services will begin at 10: 00 am Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon. Burial will be held in the Friends Cemtery in New Sharon. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Care Initiatives Hospice or the Harvest Community Fellowship. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.
Sharon Kay Fisher, the daughter of Kenneth and Alma May (Moore) Andrews, was born on January 6, 1947 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She graduated from North Mahaska High School with the class of 1966. On July 2, 1966, Sharon was united in marriage to Alva Junior Fisher at the Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa. To this union three children were born, Sherrie, Alan and Adam. Sharon was a homemaker, taking care of her family, raising the chickens and driving the tractor when they baled hay. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking pies, mowing the yard, doing crossword puzzles and word searches. Family was very important to Sharon and cherished the time she could spend with her boys. She was a past member of the Faith Christian Center in Montezuma and most recently she belonged to the Harvest Community Fellowship in New Sharon. She is also a member of the Key COOP and Farm Bureau.
Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Alan Fisher of New Sharon and Adam Fisher of New Sharon; her sister, Karen Frascht of Grinnell; sister-in-law, Mary (Mike) Stout of Oskaloosa and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Alma Andrews; her husband, Junior Fisher; a daughter in infancy, Sherrie Fisher; her brother, Jerry Andrews; her parents-in-law, Alva and Alliemae Fisher; her brother-in-law, Paul Frascht; her half Siblings-in-law, Edgar Hughes, Martha Hughes Shook, Arthur Hughes, and Darlene Hughes Holcomb.
