Sherri R. Eccleston
July 20, 1965 ~ November 2, 2024
Sherri Eccleston of Johnson New York passed peacefully on November 2,2024.
Sherri was born on July 20, 1965, in the Bronx New York to Harvey and Arlene Brecher. She grew up in Co-Op City, where she established memories and lifelong friendships that have endured until this day.
Sherri was the proprietor of Sherri's Heirloom Soaps, and she enjoyed meeting new people and made new friends wherever she went. She loved kayaking, having people over for the holidays, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with her daughter Taylor.
Sherri fought a long and brave battle against cancer and was a patient advocate for the Lung Cancer Foundation of America. In the early 2000s Sherri was also heavily involved in THYCA support groups. After Sherri moved back home to New York she was involved in a lovely organization called CROC. Sherri has traveled around the country telling her story with a message of hope to other victims of this horrible disease.
Sherri was a proud Jewish woman and was heavily involved with the Chabad of Orange County. She attended many holiday services and other activities such as the women's circle.
Sherri is survived by her daughter Taylor Eccleston and her grand dog Layla, her brother Scott Brecher, her nephews Matthew Brecher, Jared Brecher, and Daniel Brecher, her nieces Karly Brecher and Sydni Brecher, her great nephew Hudson Brecher, her co-op family, her Texas family, and her Florida family. Sherri is predeceased by her father Harvey Brecher, her mother Arlene Brecher, her brother Robert Brecher, and her dearest friend Bruce Goldberg.
If anyone would like to make a donation in her honor, we are asking that donations be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.
Services will be private.
