Shirley Cooper Obituary

Shirley Rogers Cooper, 71, of Lexington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 29, 2024.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dan Cooper; her mother, Dorothy Rogers of West Columbia, SC; her daughter, Kelli (Greg) Jones of Leesville; son, Wesley (Jessica) Cooper of Lexington; brothers, Wayne (Beth) Rogers of Charleston, Bobby (Janeen) Rogers of Columbia, and Kevin (Glenda) Rogers of Lexington. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Raelyn & Kinsley Jones, and Colton & Stetson Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her father, John C. Rogers, and her grandparents, Olin and Carabelle Amick.
Shirley graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1971, and Midlands Tech in 1973, and was an accomplished Dental Hygienist in the Lexington area for many years. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church.
Despite struggling with a serious medical condition for most of her adult life, she lived her life with grace, faith and an enduring smile. She was a blessing to anyone who knew her or crossed her path. She cared deeply for the people around her and was always kind and compassionate. A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, she loved her family with all her heart, especially her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the medical staff and caregivers at Still Hopes, NHC, Lexington Medical Center, and Amedisys Hospice Care for their loving care for Shirley in her last days.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Mt Hermon Lutheran Church in West Columbia, SC.
Services for Shirley will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church at 3:00 p.m. A private burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park.
