Mrs. Shirley Edwards, 85, of Wynne, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home with her daughters and other family members by her side.
Shirley was born on September 3, 1939, to the late Forrest Albert Taylor and Iva Vee Kay Taylor. She was a graduate of Wynne High School. Shirley worked for the WYNNE PROGRESS as a lithography operator and for Addison Shoe for 37 years. She was a long-time member of Wynne Church of God and in later life Wynne Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, reading and camping. But she especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Edwards Breckenridge of Wynne, Rhonda Edwards Walker and husband John of Wynne; grandchildren Aaron Breckenridge and wife Keeley of Aubrey, TX; Kelly Conner Long and husband Ronnie of Searcy AR; Jamie Walker Davis and husband Steven of Beebe, AR; 11 great grandchildren Karson Conner, Katelyn Conner, Cruz Davis, Keelie Davis, Laykin Davis, Harper Davis, Keagan Long, Courtney Long, Shyanne Baisz and Jayden Breckenridge; four great-great grandchildren Bryson, Coleton, Violet, Aurora; and many loved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her "sister-in-love," Lora Taylor.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Fannie and Thomas Kay; parents Iva Kay and Forrest Albert Taylor; husband James Arthur Edwards; son James Todd Edwards; brothers Forrest O'Neal Taylor and Thurel Wayne Taylor and great grandson "Little" Ronnie Long.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 10:30 AM until 12 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM with Rev. Jeff Stotts and Rev. Craig Adams officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
