Shirley R. Holliday, 91, died of natural causes February 28, 2025, in Hereford, Arizona. She was born June 19, 1933, in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of John and Rosalie Chambers.

Shirley graduated from Shawnee Mission High School, Class of 1951. Following graduation, she began college courses, majoring in home economics. Shirley’s college career was interrupted when she met Harley J. Holliday. The happy couple were married in 1953 and remained so until Harley’s passing in 2005. Together with Harley, a member of the US Navy, Shirley traveled throughout the United States, moving from coast to coast with their young family.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she is predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Debbie. Shirley is survived by her three children, Harley S. Holliday and his wife, Pam; Mark E. Holliday and his wife, Sherry; and Karen K. (Holliday) Bolton and her husband, Jeff. In addition to her children she is survived by her grandchildren, Harley S. Holliday, Galen L. Holliday, Dena Sczenski, Jennifer M. (Bolton) Ramsey, and Jaimie L. (Bolton) Callison, as well as three great grandchildren, Oliver, Alice, and Liam.

Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery following a private family memorial service.
