Joseph Leahy, 83, originally from Philadelphia, PA and Palmyra, NJ, passed away peacefully with his partner, Bruce, and friends, Tony and Kathy, by his side on December 1, 2024 and in his final stages of life. He resided at Azalea Adult Community in Cinnaminson, NJ, where he was loved by so many for his warm and kind spirit.
He is survived by his loving partner, Bruce Smith, whose steadfast companionship enriched Joseph's life immeasurably. He is also survived by his niece, June McKim-Pirolli, who Joe, along with his mother, Stella, raised June as a daughter, as well as being survived by her family and many nieces and nephews whose lives were touched by his kindness and love.
Joe's deep faith led him to serve as a Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church, Riverton and San Agustin Church in Puerto Rico.
He found immense happiness spending days on the beaches of Puerto Rico with Bruce and friends, basking in the sun and warmth of their love.
A visitation for Joseph will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, all at Sacred Heart Church, 4th Street & Linden Avenue, Riverton, NJ 08077.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alz.org in Joseph's memory.
Joseph's family and friends will miss his gentle spirit and the love he shared so freely. May he rest in eternal peace.
